Description

One of my first shots with my new macro lens ( a Sigma 105mm 2,8). I realize that it has several flaws — one of which being lack of sharpness —, but I did not have a tripod with me and therefore was unable to choose a smaller f/stop and I was a bit afraid of it flying of the next second ;) Anyways I would love to hear what you think about it and would be thankful for any advice on how I could have improved it and how I could improve my macro photography in general.

Hi! Welcome to macro! Check out this guy -> [link] who has some tutorials.

I notice the shutter speed is 1/60s, a little slow for macro hand held, you want to get a bit faster like 1/200s & use a flash. Most of us dont use tripods anyway, because by the time you get it in position your subject will have moved. There are many ways of getting good results & not all of them are expensive. Another good hang out is the Fred Miranda forums [link] in the Macro World forum there. You'll find a lot of information there & helpful people to offer advice.
